Software and growth systems for small teams
Automate weekly sales reports
Every Monday starts with someone exporting deals, cleaning names and chasing an explanation for a changed total. By the time the report arrives, the meeting has already happened. I build scheduled sales reporting that makes the reporting period and sales definitions clear, including what the source data cannot reliably tell you.
Automate a workflow — from £1,200 for a bounded scope. Requirements and acceptance checks determine the quote.
What the finished solution should accomplish
Deliver consistent weekly sales reports with agreed pipeline and revenue definitions, historical snapshots and visible source-data gaps.
What this could look like in practice
A sales lead might need new opportunities, stage movement, won value and stale deals each week. Current CRM data alone may not reveal what the pipeline looked like last Friday. A useful implementation stores snapshots or stage-change events from an agreed start date instead of inventing historical movement from today’s records.
Decisions to make before building
Agree the week boundary and timezone. Distinguish booked sales from cash received, and decide how reopened or deleted opportunities affect the report. Establish ownership for missing fields. Reporting automation should highlight incomplete data so the team can fix it, rather than filling gaps with assumptions that make the chart look complete.
When a simpler option is enough
Use scheduled CRM reports when the required measures already exist. A shared saved view may be more useful than a new dashboard for a small sales team. Custom reporting is justified when sources must be joined, historical snapshots are missing or managers need a repeatable distribution and review workflow.
An initial scope could include
- Metric definitions and reporting calendar
- Snapshot collection where required
- Weekly report, source links and missing-data checks
How we would check the work
- Check a deal crossing a week boundary
- Verify reopened and removed deals are handled as agreed
- Compare report totals with a saved source export
Can you recover past pipeline snapshots?
Only where the source retains suitable history. If it does not, the honest option is to start collecting snapshots now and mark earlier periods as unavailable. Current deal values cannot reliably reconstruct every previous state.
Scope, ownership and working together
You work directly with Joel from discovery through implementation. We agree the outcome, exclusions and acceptance checks before a build. You receive access to the code, deployment and handover documentation. Hosting, third-party services and ongoing support are identified separately; owning the code does not make operating costs disappear.
Automate a workflow — from £1,200 for a bounded scope. Requirements and acceptance checks determine the quote. Permissions, migration, source-system access and the number of workflows affect scope. Hosting, maintenance and further milestones are agreed separately. Smaller extensions to existing infrastructure can receive a smaller quote.
