Software and growth systems for small teams

Technical SEO consulting and implementation

An audit is only useful if the important fixes reach production. If your pages are difficult to discover, render inconsistently or point search engines at conflicting URLs, more articles will not resolve the underlying problem. I investigate the technical barriers and implement focused changes in the site’s existing codebase.

Discuss this project

SEO reviews and implementation are scoped separately.

What the finished solution should accomplish

Find and fix technical SEO barriers across crawling, indexing, page templates and internal links, with implementation and verification in your codebase.

What this could look like in practice

A site might expose a service page in the browser but omit its main content from the delivered HTML. Another might publish several versions of the same URL with inconsistent canonical tags. These are diagnostic examples, not assumptions about your site. I establish the observed behaviour before recommending changes.

Decisions to make before building

Start with Search Console access, representative URLs and the deployment setup. Separate excluded pages that should remain excluded from pages that deserve indexing. Inspect rendered content, HTTP responses, canonical signals and internal discovery. For performance, distinguish a local measurement from real-user experience and prioritise changes that help visitors complete their task.

When a simpler option is enough

A small site with clear pages and no indexing issues may need better positioning rather than engineering. Basic titles, navigation and content edits can often be handled in the CMS. Technical work is appropriate when the obstacle lies in templates, routing, rendering, duplication or delivery performance.

An initial scope could include

  • Evidence-led issue list ranked by business impact
  • Agreed template, routing or performance fixes
  • Before-and-after checks and a monitoring plan

How we would check the work

  • Inspect affected URLs before and after deployment
  • Confirm intended pages return content and correct canonicals
  • Review index coverage after Google has recrawled

Can you guarantee rankings after fixing technical problems?

No. Removing a technical barrier helps make a page eligible to compete, but relevance, demand and competing results still matter. The work is scoped around observable fixes and measurable checks, with search outcomes monitored afterwards.

Scope, ownership and working together

You work directly with Joel from discovery through implementation. We agree the outcome, exclusions and acceptance checks before a build. You receive access to the code, deployment and handover documentation. Hosting, third-party services and ongoing support are identified separately; owning the code does not make operating costs disappear.

SEO engagement pricing follows the review and implementation scope. Rankings and enquiry volumes cannot be guaranteed.
