Software and growth systems for small teams
Programmatic SEO development
You have a useful dataset or a repeatable service problem, and manually maintaining every page is becoming impractical. A shared template can help, but only when each URL has information worth visiting. I build content infrastructure that separates reusable presentation from the data and judgement each page needs.
SEO reviews and implementation are scoped separately.
What the finished solution should accomplish
Publish useful search landing pages from structured content, with quality controls, reliable URLs and a maintainable implementation in your existing site.
What this could look like in practice
A directory with verified entries can generate pages that answer distinct comparisons or location needs. A service site with no unique local information should not produce hundreds of city substitutions. The first decision is whether the underlying material deserves separate pages, not which framework can generate the most routes.
Decisions to make before building
Prototype a small representative set before expanding. Define required fields, evidence sources, update ownership and rules for withholding incomplete pages. Decide canonical ownership for overlapping topics and how retired records are handled. Build internal discovery into the collection so useful pages do not rely entirely on an XML sitemap.
When a simpler option is enough
If you only need a handful of service pages, a manually maintained registry or CMS is usually sufficient. If the source data is weak, improve it before automating publication. A large generation system does not create expertise, demand or useful differences between pages.
An initial scope could include
- Content model and pilot page set
- Static or server-rendered templates with metadata
- Validation, internal links and publication workflow
How we would check the work
- Compare pilot pages for useful differences
- Verify empty or duplicate records do not become indexed pages
- Check generated links, canonicals and sitemap coverage
Is programmatic SEO against Google’s guidelines?
The method alone is not the deciding factor. Google warns against producing many pages primarily to manipulate rankings without helping users. I would only expand a template when its records provide distinct value, and I would keep incomplete material out of the published collection.
Scope, ownership and working together
You work directly with Joel from discovery through implementation. We agree the outcome, exclusions and acceptance checks before a build. You receive access to the code, deployment and handover documentation. Hosting, third-party services and ongoing support are identified separately; owning the code does not make operating costs disappear.
SEO engagement pricing follows the review and implementation scope. Rankings and enquiry volumes cannot be guaranteed.
